John, I doubt it's anything electrical, but it wouldn't hurt to pull the
coil wire off and crank the engine for about 10 seconds, then immediately
feel all the battery cables to see if they're hot.  If you find a hot spot,
you've got a bad connection or cable.  Also, check the battery voltage at
the battery while cranking.  With a warm engine, it shouldn't drop below
about 10 volts; if it does then the battery may be bad.

I'd be more concerned about something that makes the engine unusually hard
to crank, like advanced ignition timing, sticking advance mechanism, etc.
