Tim,
All of the TR4 original radio's I have seen have a switch on the back on them 
to allow you use either positive or negative ground.  The PO of my TR4 set it 
up negative ground.  When I installed an original AM TR4 radio (tube type) I 
simply set the switch to negative ground.
