"Torque might be a small factor with that wonderful Vanguard/Tractor/sports
car engine, but probably not enough to really matter."
===========================
Torque was a big issue with Harry Ferguson. When he introduced his tractors
to take the market from Ford, he specifically went with an overhead valve
engine as it has more torque than the Ford flathead. Now 50-60 years later
the tractor enthusiasts pick a Ford if they are patriotic (Americans) and
want a tractor to put in a show, and they pick a Fergie if they want to get
some work done.

Jim (please don't cross post this to the tractor lists) Wallace
