Don't know if I describe them as useless. Wrong would be more
accurate. I saw a spec (don't remember what) in a VW Dasher manual
that would have lead to significant damage. Fortunately I had three
manuals that came with the car, and the other two gave that spec
correctly. Just another data point...your mileage may vary.
