I've been flailing away on the GT6 state of tune, trying to make it
run cleaner and smoother. I did a compression check today and came
up with (let's see if I can remember) 143, 160, 155, 160, 150, 160.
The 143 bothers me. (It might have gone up to 145.) I've tried to
keep the valves set carefully, but something up there always clicks
away like a loose valve, which could result in a low compression
value. What sort of mechanical problem could make a value difficult
to set?
These values were taken with engine warm, all plugs in place except
the one I was testing, and with a healthy starter motor and battery.
Still, they seem mighty high. Do any of you other GT6 owners have
compression values for comparison?
