Greg,
I was had by the same latch from the same supplier.  It certainly is 
frustrating to spend the time to improve your car only to be foiled by repro 
parts that are way wrong isn't it?  I feel your pain. I just put my old 
broken one back on until I can find a good OE replacement at a swap meet or 
something.
