RE: Fuel Tank leak

I've decided to take my fuel tank to the Renu shop to get it Renu'ed. I'll
report back on how it works out along with cost. I thought about getting a
used tank, but don't want to run into the same (scary) problem again. I
found at least one pinhole in this tank. Thanks everyone for the advice.

I removed the sending unit.  It cleaned up pretty well. But, I found that
the float is about 1/3 full of fuel. The unit seemed to be working well so I
don't want to spring for another. The float does not appear to be sold
separately. Any ideas for a fix or replacement?
