I was looking at a sales brochure for the latest Mercedes 500SL the
other day and it said the car has a 'brake-by-wire' system with no direct,
physical connection between pedal and discs.
I thought how lucky we are such a device was not invented in the 50s as
Triumph would probably have used Lucas parts. Had that been the case, one
could assume that our loved Triumph LBCs would indeed, be rare machines
today or that our hobby would not exist!
