I have had to remove the oil pressure relief valve on quite a few occasions
over the last twenty three years, almost always because my oil pressure
showed low. What is amazing is how small a piece of debris can really affect
the pressure. Once I identified a tiny piece of very thin wire as a bit of
bristle from a wire brush.
LOP has usually occurred for me after I have removed the sump for any
reason, then it settles down for the next few years.
