Was just getting ready to do some archive searching and read posting that
archives are gone.
My first car was/is a 58 3a that I drove from 66 to 68 while in college. Had
the head reworked but screwed up installation and got water in the oil.
Parked at the farm while I was overseas in military. Some idiot contractor
backed into the rear and crushed it in. Conventional wheels.
Have found a very nice 59 3a locally. Nonstandard carpets and 4a seats
but
everything else looks great. Looked at the car yesterday and will test drive
next Thursday.
Question; I thought all wire wheels had spinners but was obviously
wrong as
usual because this car has large cap nut retainers(Terminology??). The
wheels are painted instead of chromed. How common is this? Also, the owner
said that the spare is a conventionl wheel because a wire wheel would not
fit in the spare wheel well.
What to do when you have a flat???? Tips and tricks would be
appreciated.
Thanks
