Hail to all the Triumph listers! I finally had enough of the clutch
master cylinder dripping on my foot, so I ordered a kit from Moss to rebuild
it. First question: should you run a hone through the bore of the cylinder as
you would a brake wheel cylinder, or should you just replace the seals? The
problem is that now when you release the pedal after depressing it to the
floor, I have a nice steady squirt of brake fluid that hits the seat.
Luckily, I was not seated in the car at the time; the car was up on stands.
Before I reassembled the master cylinder, I checked the bore of the cylinder
and noticed a scratch that runs fore to aft the length of the bore. As I
could not feel the scratch, I let it go. The master cylinder has been
re-removed and is sitting on the bench preparing itself for round #2. Your
suggestions and comments are solicited.
