Bill,
I made that same mistake when I repainted my 71. I now have hairline
cracks
where the body has flexed along the seem between the fender and the deck and
were the rear valence meets the rear fenders. I Would definitely *NOT*
recommend anyone doing this.
In answer to you questions:
1. Q. Is there a plastic bead in that seam?
A. No plastic bead.
2. Q. Is there a seam visible where the rear deck meets the forward
A. Yes the seem is visible.
