Hey Andy,
Notice on the red one the twin brake lights looked tacked on. It doesn't
look like they are on the raised boss that the later rear aprons had. I've
heard that was a period mod. As for the teardrop tail lights instead of the
rectangular base lights, the originals were unavailable for so long its no
surprise that they had the later ones. I wish they had an engine shot of the
red car.
The green car may look nice but the devils in the details.
That said, both are far nicer than my 2 or my 3.

The red one certainly isn't terribly "original," either: bright fender
beading, and a much, much later rear apron...and wrong rear lights
throughout
(a car this early would have had the squared Lucas tail/flasher lamps and
the
single brake/license plate lamp in the middle. Almost makes one wonder if it
might be a "clip" car? Still, both are early, long-door TR2s!
