I was talking about the passenger grab handle mounted on the dash, not the
door 'handles'. And while I won't claim to be an authority, FWIW Bill
Piggott agrees with me that they were plastic coated on the early cars, and,
as Carl noted, slimmer in cross-section without the bulge of the later
chromed ones.
