You do have to loosen the engine mounts and jack the front of the engine up
a bit to get the new belt under the fan extension. Some people think it a
good idea to slip a second fan belt under there as well and wire it firmly
to the chassis. That way you only have to go through the jacking process
every other fan belt!
Also the fact that you have a spare in position practically guarantees that
you won't shed a belt late at night in the pouring rain. Like taking your
umbrella to the races.
