LeRoy :

Well, by modern standards they are "high maintenance". Lots and lots of
points that need to be lubed more often than a 'modern' car; more things to
be adjusted as part of a tune-up; etc. The owner's manual was serious (and
right on target) when they said to charge the battery after a winter run, as
the stock generator will not keep up with the lights, heater and wipers all
at the same time. You'll also learn to do things like shut the engine off
if you're stopped for more than a few minutes (waiting on a train or
whatever).

99% of the parts are readily available by mail order, and actually quite
cheap compared to modern cars. Some of the body pressings are a bit more
difficult and expensive, but still not unreasonably so.

You'll be hot in the summer, cold in the winter, wet in the rain ... and I
wouldn't trade mine for anything (except perhaps another one) !
