So, I'm trying to remove the front apron of my TR3A before removing the
engine and gearbox as one unit. Of course, the bolts that secure the apron
to the fenders screw into cage nuts which are turning inside the cages. I
am in the process of removing the heads from the bolts, with a combination
of an air chisel and a grinder, but it is slow going and it occurs to me
that it may be easier to remove the apron and the fenders as a unit, so that
the securing bolts could be removed on the bench, with full access to the
cage nuts. I will be eremoving the body from the frame anyway, so this is
probably a good time to do this. Have any of you ever removed the apron and
fenders as one unit? Can it be done?
