I just took a third look at the rocker parts. The interesting thing is that
the worst wear was at the rocker right next to the rear pedestal that feeds
the oil. I'm guessing some dirt or sludge came up to the top and went to the
path of least resistance -- the closest passage.

This all suggests that some kind of clean out could be done when adjusting
the valve lash. Does anybody do this?

What do Rocker arm specialists do? Do they turn down the shaft and put
bushings in the rockers and pedestals?
