I wouldn't cut them. These two triangles are "gussets" for supporting the
upper body structure. If you weaken those, you will get more flex in the
back of the car, and believe me, you don't want amy more flex there.
What many folks do to keep from hacking the body is install free standing
speakers on the parcel shelf or between the seat backs and the verticle
surface that connects the parcel shelf to the floor.
