While we were pulling my engine on Saturday, the fellow helping me commented
on the recession in the deck at the top of the cylinders. As I understand
this is only on the later TR6 blocks. What purpose do these serve? It can't
be for emissions. My friend is a veteran powertrain engineer. He says that
this will add crevice volume and increase hydrocarbon emissions.
Just curious if anyone knows.
