Hi everyone,
I was handed an oil pressure gauge that someone thought I should install in my
2500 S. I have a few questions and hope that you are able to help with both.
1) The gauge only handles up to 100psi. I have been told that 2500 motors in
good healthy condition (with oil cooler - which mine will have soon) at cold
temperatures can read well over 80. Another source has suggested that on
start-up they have had enough pressure to blow a filter clean off the side of
their block - has anyone got an oil pressure gauge and what is the maximum
pressure I should be trying to monitor?
2) The gauge is the electric type. What do I need to do to hook it up. It
has three terminals on the back one must be earth, one must be the light and
the other must be the signal. I assume I need some kind of sensor or
something. ????
