Back in late December, I'd contacted the list looking to resolve a compression
ratio problem I had with a decked block & a shaved head. It'd been recommended
to call Gasket Works which I did & I'm now the proud owner of two solid copper
gaskets. Why two? Well, I bought one at .064" thick & then got chicken sh*t &
bought another at .094" thick (for a 87mm bore setup). The latter will give me
a calculated c/r of 9.9/1 vs. 10.6/1 with the former. (I cc'd the head, YMMV)
I went ahead and annealed both at work in a furnace with a nitrogen back-fill
system at 900 degrees F per their instructions & they remained pretty shiny
tho' I scotch-brited them anyway. Making a short story long, anyone want the
.064" thick one? Gasket Works cut me some slack when I changed my mind & only
charged me $60 for the .064" one since he already had it made up when I
changed my mind. I'm just looking to recoup my cost plus shipping to wherever.
Please contact me off list with your questions. Link to a couple of photos
below. Head is not included! : { )
