I wonder if Fred Thomas can get his oven hot enough to melt chrome powder?

Subject: Has anyone tried anything like this . . .
Howdy,
Has anyone tried any of these kind of do-it-yourself chrome/plating kits?
http://www.caswellplating.com/triple.htm
http://www.caswellplating.com/chrome.htm
I always try to do EVERYTHING myself before paying someone else to do
something for me, so now that I've got a better understanding of powder
coating under my belt (BTW, thanks to all who responded. You guys really
know your stuff, and I got a lot of great info!) I thought I would look into
my chrome plating alternatives. I had always just assumed that this was one
thing I would NEVER be able to do myself, but then I saw these kits . . .
So . . . anyone with any experience with this kind of thing out there? My
guess is that I am probably better off to just send my parts to be
professionally chromed, but I would still like to glean from the
experience(s) of the All Wise and Knowing List! Man, this list is awesome!
TIA,
