Ken G. told me that reaming the guides to greater than "modern" specs (0.002"
and 0.003", as you mentioned elsewhere) is necessary because in a TR3/4 head
there is a lot of mass (of cast iron) in the vicinity of the guide i.e. the
heat is not removed from that area very well.
