Because if it wasn't copper, everyone would be complaining about it not
being 'as original' ! <g>
Actually, I believe it's only copper plated (both my originals and the
new ones from TRF). I don't know, but my guess would be that the copper
made it easier to solder the screen to the original. The repro is
plated just because that's what the spec said.
