Scott ,
I believe that once the strip is pulled tight through the " split pin " , you
then turn the "split pin" using a small bar ( nail ? ) to tighten up even more .
Friction stops it coming undone .
Tightening could be clockwise or anti-clockwise , depending on how the
strip is fitted .Ensure that the axle side of the strip is pulled under the
split pin when tightening .
