I have experimented with it, and sure enough yes you can,  it does not flow
out the way metal does and it is a rather hard task to get the spray on
evenly with out the electricity holding it in place,  when coating springs I
drive nails into a small piece of wood then stretch the spring from nail to
nail, this allows the spray to get 100% coverage, tried it on a piece of
very aged driftwood and had a little extra smoke as it caught on fire, I'm
now sticking with metal except for the springs.  "FT"
