My take on the situation:

Britcarsource is not the sole source of this manual.

Brit is not setting the price.

They are not shipping to someone then charging a inflated price.

A item is only worth as much as someone is willing to spend. Are built in
the 1920's wooden kit houses sold by Sears really worth $ 500,000? If they
are located on Palo Alto California they are. Located in Hooterville next to
Mr Druckers store they might be worth $ 5,000.

In a real time/real life auction the auctonieer/ owner/ bidders do not whine
the price is too much. If it is too much for a bidder, then it is time to
drop out. Sometimes the crowd will gasp in amazement at high prices, but this
is brought upon the bidders themselves. Bidders sometimes want to show
others who is top dog, why else would some classic cars sell in the 6 MILLION
dollar range.

While they aren't saying the manual is new, they aren't saying it is a
reprint. Not a lie, but not total disclosure of the item. Poor business
practice, but probably not illegal as they are selling it for ". . the value
is in the information. " That is what a seller is getting. If they are
looking of a original print to complete a collection, this item is not for
them.

If non car person is cleaning out their barn and offers you a old car and
parts for $ 100 ( and they are estatic to get 100 ) Would you go back and pay
them more if you found out the new chrome bumper in the pile was worth $ 300?
( kina like the manual situation in reverse)

Experience and building contacts take years. The people that know the manual
went too high can have gained experience. Not having experience and paying
too much for a item is not the fault of the seller _IF_ the item is described
correctly.

There might be more, but I need to get going.
No business interest in Britcarsource or any other brit car seller.
