For those truly interested in this, a quick chart, based mostly on later TR3A
part numbers:
switch Stanpart Lucas supersedes to model / action
lighting 109452 31420A/D 31126 [Int. light] PPG1 / 2-stage
pull-on/push off
wiper 107285 31419A 31434 [Panel] PS7 / push-pull
2-sp.wiper
1954-57 108909 31427 31568 [lighting] PR57 / Rotary three way
1958-60 " 31568 (see above)
[NOTE: above chart works better in a monospace font such as Courier.]
I don't know anything about the two-speed wiper motor used on the TR3/3A,
except that it is a DR3 model, while the single-speed motor is a DR2.
Possibly the lighting switch wouldn't work, depending on exactly how the
two-speed motor is powered (one circuit cuts out, or ???? -- I don't know).
Besides, a good Concours judge might spot your DR3 motor and then check to
make sure the switch is the rotary type and not a push-pull. ;-)

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
