Hi Brent,
When I replaced mine, I wrapped the glazing strip around the edge. I then
placed the upper frame open side up on something to keep it from scratching
(old towels) and slid the windshield into the frame. It takes some muscle to
push the windshield AND glazing strip into the groove but take your time. The
glazing strip will extrude a bit so be carefull not to rip it.
Next thing will be the tenon plates, stanchions and the lower rail. I found
this to be the difficult part of the installation as they all need to go
together fairly simultaneously. Use some dish soap and fit the sealing rubber
into the lower rail. Try to push the lower frame onto the windshield which
should be fairly well seated in the upper frame already. Once the glazing
strip is set into the lower frame, you'll need to attach the angle brackets
that secure the lower rail to the upper frame.
Attach one tenon plate and stanchion and use another body to keep the upper
frame from spreading too much. Attach the other tenon plate and stanchion
while ensuring that you use the screws in same position from whence(?) they
came.
Trim the lower sealing rubber and attach the small metal plates that keeps
the rubber against the stanchion.
Hope this helps
