Eric et all,

in addition, you also need to change the springs in the OD, because the Spit
has a lower torque as the TR6. You might get an adapter plate (maybe MOSS
sells it separately), but I think it's easier to get a complete TR6 or
Triumph 2500 Tranny/OD setup.
An alternative I recommend to change the diff ration to the 3.45 PI type,
that reduces the revs as well. Of cause, that only make sense if you plan
(or maybe have to) rebuild your differential.
I rebuild my 74 TR6 diff a couple of yours ago and also have a J-OD in my
car. I can now drive it at 95 mph at app. 4000 RPMs. (only on German
Autobahn of cause...:-)

Regards and have a nice Thanks Giving

You'll need to find an output shaft for a TR6 overdrive transmission. It's
not the same as the regular TR6 output shaft (it has an eccentric lobe to
drive the O/D hydraulic pump). I'd be surprised if the tiny Spitfire
transmission used the same shaft.

To separate the O/D from the Spitfire transmission you'll have to engage
it's internal clutch. This can be accomplished by spinning it up to
operating RPM, activating the solenoid, and then stopping it with the
solenoid still engaged. It can also be accomplished by attaching a
hydraulic pump to the pressure test port and pumping it up to 460 PSI.

My guess is that it would be easier to sell the Spitfire O/D transmission
and use the money to buy a TR6 O/D setup.
