According to Bill Piggott (who I'd be inclined to believe), TR4's were
positive ground, TR4A's were negative.

I have a positive ground TR 4A. I can't believe that someone would bother to
convert it to this, but who knows.
I have the Blue loose-leaf factory manual, but I am not so sure how clear the
wiring diagram is. I recall seeing some of the prior owners notes in it. I
won't be able to get my hands on it until this weekend, so if one doesn't
crop up by then I could fax it on Tuesday of next week.
Someone on the spridgets list, scanned his, and then had an oversized copy
made with a plotter, and then hung the whole thing on the wall of his garage.
A lot of the spridgets guys are replacing their old Lucas underpowered
generators with Alternators. Check out
http://members.tripod.com/pdljmpr/techin.htm#Electrical: if you are
interested.
So far I am surviving with two positive ground cars.
