Anyone know if today's turbo vehicles use them or not? Just curious since
there is so much electronics on todays cars I think you need to be an
electrician and programmer to work on them!!!!

I had a 79 Mustang with the turbo 2.3 engine. It had an electronic timing
retard unit that retarded the timing in steps in response to some pressure
switches so I think that timing retardation under boost is a necessary fact
of life. (Perhaps you could get around it with water injection but that
really isn't practical in a street car.)
But you are right. Most modern cars have spark timing under computer
control and if the car is boosted (turbo or super charged) then that is
just another parameter factored into the timing equation.
