Scott:

You make a valid point. One exception though. This is not just an American
Tragedy, it is a misery for all on this Earth who value civilized behaviour
and a lifestyle based upon trust and friendship rather than hate and hurt.
When the incoming planes were directed away from the US to Canada where they
landed in fleets all over the country, we did not ask "why us?", we took
them in. Many could have had teams of fanatics sitting in wait just looking
for the sight of their target before striking. Allies don't ask those sort
of questions, they help. As was pointed out on the list today, when Halifax
was devastated the Americans helped us. Yesterday it was our turn. Hope for
the best and help anyway. That is, in a nutshell, what defines the
difference between us and them.

If this disease is to be cut out, then the retribution must be both
deliberate and even. It must be the actions of all involved. We all have
cities of citizens who do not wish to look up to the sky in fear. If the
actions of the entire civilized world are directed at this threat, if it is
surrounded and strangled and starved out into the open and finally stamped
into the Earth as you would any foul creature seen in the light of day. Only
then can it be dealt with without fear of endless retaliation.

We the combined peoples of this place must act together to ensure that root
and branch all traces of this disesase are gone. Fair can be for the
historians. What is important is that we act together.

Mark-
I think everyone who does not have one out now should get their flag, and
fly it FULL mast. The time for mourning will come when the dead are all
accounted for, both physically and retributionally. We need, at this time,
to come together and show those that perpetrated this vile act that we are
one nation, and will act as a single body to eradicate the vermin of
terrorism. We can lower the flags after OUR bold statement has been made,
and weep as a nation avenged.

As another person said, we should capture and try those responsible, not
with American Justice, which would be slow and curtailable, but with Arab
Justice- swift and final. They fully expect to be brought here, fed, housed,
defended, and, after conviction will appeal and appeal. Those killed by
their attack have no appeal. Those responsible should suffer, and be
eliminated. Those who supported and willingly and knowingly aided their
cause should be made to pay for their misdeeds. These were deliberate
attacks, premeditated, preplanned and executed with attention to detail. Our
reply should be the same.

We can not properly mourn those lost until those responsible have met
Justice- swift and final.

This may not seem to be the "American Way", but it is paying back in kind
those who chose the methods used. We can be no more fair than that.

Scott
