Problem was no oil pressure, no oil flow actually, in either of two newly
assembled 'J' type overdrive units.
John Esposito suggested that the pump might be air locked. In other words, the
pump was compressing the same air on each stroke without expelling it past the
anti return valve. Consequently no vacuum was created on the opposite stroke
to draw oil from the sump. I removed the anti return valve, packed the pump
cavity with grease, reassembled and....It's Alive! 400 + psi solenoid on, near
0 off. Thanks John, really appreciate the help.
