71 TR6 Windshield Removal??

Trying to replace the upper crash pad on my 71 TR6. Bentley manual says to
remove windshield. No problem in removing the bolts from the screen pillars
but how do you access the six bolts securing the screen pillar that need to
be slackened to lift out the windshield frame assembly?
