Pete (and others):
I just read your post on the handling characteristics
of a TR6 and couldn't agree more - especially about
the tire size.
I too have 205-70-15s on my car - I bought the
Diamondback remanufactured redlines. Besides being
the closest diameter to original equipment they give
me relatively modern handling and I still get to keep
the redline look.
My question is about camber. After installing front
and rear heavy duty springs from Moss my car was
lowered a little. Moss says that they aren't supposed
to do that but they did. My front tires would then
rub on the wheel wells when hitting bumps (shocks are
good) so I put in 3/4 inch spacers (front and rear)
that Richard Good sells to get me back up to what I
think is the proper ride height.
The problem now is that I think that I've got too MUCH
rear camber - the tops of the tires are slightly
outboard of the bottoms. The car tracks great but it
seems like the rear end rolls way too much in a turn.
I've often read of fiddling with the notch set-up of
the trailing arms. Am I a candidate for this approach
or is a trip to the alignment guy the only way to go.
Thanks.
