Inclusion of Youth is the best way of continuing the heritage of any passion,
no matter what the subject is, in our case it happens to be Little British
Cars. The best solution to the British car heritage is a mentoring scenario,
When I started restoring my car several years ago a neighborhood boy would
hang around always asking me question at that time, many of the question I did
not have a answer too but together we figured it out. We learned a lot
together. When we finished the car, in time for the VTR nationals in Savannah,
I asked his parents if I could take him with me. It was the thrill and
experience Nick would never forget. He was even given a ride in a tr250 that
took first overall (beautiful car). He now has a respect for these cars he
would of never had prior to becoming involved in the restoration. Even today
when he calls, the first words out of his mouth is HOW'S THE CAR. I know one
day he will own one of these LBC and will take the time to restore one.
Last year I attended the Southeastern regional in Lake City Florida at
that convention. I know I was one of the younger owners there. At that
convention I had the opportunity to develope some wonderful friendships with
some of the senior members of our hobby. (Fred, Dan) Many of these seniors
have been very, very helpful in sharing their knowledge and information about
these cars. Through out this past year and through this list I have developed
several friendships from these seniors who again want to share their
information about this hobby. HI Nelson. So yes include these youth and give
them a break, who knows one day they might be driving YOUR LBC.

as Fred would say
that's my .02 cents worth,
Ronnie
