Jeffrey, now that you put it that way, I'm shopping for red duct tape.

I put Miata seats in a bugeye, so I have to think they'll fit in a Triumph.
Cost $150 BTW, cloth. They have speakers in the headrest usually,
that would be pretty cool though we never got a working stereo in
the car. The bugeye had been stripped, so non-original didn't seem
bad. We could have had power Porsche seats for $300.

The trouble with ALL non-TR4 seats will probably be the ride height,
but then some guys have had trouble with too-tall new foam and
springs in stock restos. We had to fabricate mounts since the seats
are designed to conform to the Miata's unibody frame. Not too hard to
do though. With the seat back reclined a bit we weren't up too high,
and you might have more vertical room in a TR4. Ask them to allow
you to trial fit the seats -- go there with the passenger seat pulled and
set the seat in there, sit and see how it feels. I suppose you could
pay a non-refundable deposit if they have to invest some labor into
pulling the seats.

I recall we also swapped the seats side-to-side so the reclining
hardware was in the middle, only way it fit. Pay attention to where
the mechanism for forward/back movement comes out.

This is all starting to sound pretty good, what with my lower back
aching today. Let me know how it goes.
