John,
There is a small P.S. to the story. In early 1959 I picked up 3 TR3A's in
Baltimore which had been rolling around on a ship for quite a while. Oddly
enough, all 3 had hardtops and 2 of the 3 were red.
We eventually made two complete cars out of the three. One was the car we
raced at Sebring that same year. The other was repainted a horrible, Easter
egg pink and was the personal transportation of the dealer's wife. She didn't
like it and it was sold shortly thereafter as a used car.
The third car was sold, a piece at a time, out of the parts dept.
Apparently there was some question of the insurance adjuster's ability to
count. :o) Grin!
