Not a dumb question. Do it on the frame cross member behind the rad and
close to the engine, placing the jack in the middle of it. If your car is
lowered, and you can't reach that part of the frame, jack up one side on the
frame behind the front wheel about six inches or so, place something strong
to keep it there, and then move the jack to the aforementioned crossmember.
The rear can be done using the differential as the jacking point.
