I was down at Sears Point in Sonoma for the Wine Country Classic (and to see
my son at Russel Racing) last weekend and was glad to see Triumphs racing.
67 TR 250K (Kas Kastner) now owned by Pat Hart, Redmond WA
65 TR4 Tide Ebding, Martinez CA
57 TR3 Joe Dickerson, Newport Beach CA
It was particularily fun to see the 250K being really well driven... by Tony
Garmey, who qualified 2nd in a great shoot out on Sat. and started at the back
of the pack on Sunday. After an amazing climb thru the field (+/- 30 cars )
he came in 2nd behind a 64 Lotus 26R which had picked up a substantial lead
having an open track up front. I'm really looking forward to seeing it run
again at SOVERN this year.
The TR4 was on its first time out at the track and was in the middle of the
pack until it retired part way thru the race. I didn't catch what happened,
it sure looked nice though.
I searched the paddock both Sat & Sun for the TR3 but couldn't find it. I
heard that he was having some carb problems, but I really wanted to see it.
