Bill,  depending on what car you have it goes something like this"
Remove the distributor.  Remove the distributor  drive gear (if you have a
TR8 the drive gear is on the distributor shaft).  Next attach to your hand
drill your special oil pump shaft adapter (a shaft with a feature on the
end that engages the oil pump shaft) and turn the oil pump.  Be sure to
turn the oil pump in the proper direction.  For a TR8 it will be clockwise,
for most others it will be counterclockwise (anticlockwise).

Now, what does this special oil pump adapter look like?  The one I made for
the TR8 is a shaft with a slot on the end that fits the tip machined on the
end of the oil pump shaft.  I forget what the other oil pump shafts look
like.  But when you pull the drive gear you will see what it needs to be.
