I dont have much experience with starting a TR6 (or any other car for that
matter) after a long period of inactivity, however I suggest to recheck the
oil level now that the car has been turned over and the oil has distributed
around the engine. I mistakenly put in 4 quarts instead of 5 in my TR6 and
experienced very similar symptoms of low oil pressure. If the oil level is
low, it may be the cause of your problem.
Also, there may be some people who disagree, but I read years ago somewhere
that when starting the engine after an oil change its better to get the
RPM's up to around 1500 in order to get the oil to the upper engine as quick
as possible. I have been doing this on other cars for years without any
problems (1986 GTI and 1988 Caravan both with over 150k miles and neither
car burns oil).
