Listers,

I haven't been able to get my rear carb to stop the drip, drip, drip. Front
is fine, I know I'm putting all the seals, copper washers, etc, together the
right way. Then this weekend I discovered something new: As you know, at
the bottom of the jet is a u-shaped piece of brass that is attached to the
choke connection. Well, I discovered that the jet is a hollow tube, with
threads at the bottom, and the u-shaped piece is held on to the jet by a
square-headed screw that screws up into the jet. Very surprised. I always
figured that the jet was closed off at the bottom, and the u-shaped piece
was, I don't know, brazed or welded or cast or by some magic way attached to
the jet. So now I'm assuming that my leak is from the bottom of the jet,
and whatever seal is supposed to stop the fluif (is gas a fluif?) from
leaking out isn't working. Hence my questions: What IS supposed to seal the
bottom, where the screw goes up into the jet? It seems like there should be
something more positive than brass-on-brass. Any hints on how I can make
mine leak-free? Thank you, thank you, thank you for any ideas.
