In the years those STC plats were being used, Triumph's model year was the same
as the year the car was manufactured. It was only after the addition
of the extra plate that the model year changed to that of the US cars. This is
what prompts the question. Do they use the REAL model year of the
Updated one???
As an additional note, when my son moved from Washing to California, he tried
to get the original model year reinstated when he registered the car in
CA. He determined that it was just too much trouble trying to convince the
authorities that it really is a 65 and not a 66 as the plate says. So he
left it as it was.
