Nelson,
I changed my TR6 over to silicone fluid about 10 years ago, and I've had no
problems at all with it. All I did to convert was run enough silicon through
the system till the fluid "appeared" to be free of the old fluid. I didn't do
any rebuilding, nor did I flush with alcohol as many people suggest.
I'm no brake expert, and YMMV, but that's my experience with converting to
silicone. I have approximately 50,000 miles on the conversion now.
