Hi Paul
I have used some of the type with the rubber (viton?) tips, these were not
genuine SU components but did work very well, made to a high standard, they
were a bit more expensive than the SU originals but they are still installed
(about 3-4 years) and last time I looked had no sign of wear or degradation
of any kind. unfortunately our supply dried up. Something about the guy who
made them would have to buy 100,000 of the viton tips or something like that
and was concerned that the demand would not exceed the supply! I wanted 2
more pairs, but have since fitted the SU original type.
Graham.
| I've run across two types of 'stock float bowl valves.
| One is plastic shaft with metal seat and valve
| 'arrowhead'
|
| the other is metal bodied shaft with a rubber 'arrowhead'
| and metal seat.
|
| Who prefers which and why?
|
| I seem to be leaning towards the metal bodied
| valve shaft that has the rubber arrowhead seat.
| ...seems like it would wear less and seal better
| Thoughts? anyone?
