This is interesting Fred . 
My '56 TR 3 has a plugged hole on the right front fender , presumably for an
antenna . 
Though an electric antenna on the rear would look rather nice . Any specific
place in particular more suited for the placement ?
Now I just need to find the correct radio . The electric antenna should not
pose a problem to source ( I guess any small unit should work ) .

the factory even installed electric antennas on early T/R 3's on
the "rear" fenders, the radios were "Radiomobiles" which was a subsidary of
"RCA".  "FT"
