For my mental "back of the envelope", I figured 190lb force / 2000 lb
car mass is roughly 0.1 g acceleration, which is roughly 1
meter/second/second. (I don't remember most conversion factors, but 1g
is 9.8 m/s/s, and 1 m/s is a little over 2 mph.) So, 60 mph is roughly
30 m/s, and speed is acceleration times time, so 30 seconds to achieve
30 m/s or 60 mph. I bumped up to 40 s to account for drag (which is
probably too much).
A stock TR3 makes about 100 ftlb of torque, with about 4:1 drive ratio
and roughly 1 ft radius wheels, so makes about 400 lb thrust (in 4th
gear).
